She had never been loved and treated as rightly as her sugar daddy did. According to her, the man showered her with so much love, he satisfied her with everything: s*x, money, and flexed her in beautiful places she had never been before. Her sugar daddy was unlike her ex-boyfriend who, she said, couldn’t take care of her and still cheated on her. She was obviously going crazy with him and afraid of falling in love with him.

“Before now I didn’t like dating married men because I didn’t have the mind to deal with the consequences of going out with another woman’s husband. And the fact that I had to hide my man, sneak in and out of hotels every time. And the constant fear of madam or someone that knew madam not seeing us made them a no-no for me. I knew a couple of my friends who had sugar daddies, right from when we were teenagers. They always have money to spend and wore expensive clothes. You would see them with expensive phones, too, and they changed phones like clothes. One of them stayed in Port Harcourt and visits Lagos often. The sugar daddies were the ones to book her flights to and fro. She flew around with them. She kept telling me that I was dulling myself by hanging out with guys of my age. She said it was a waste of time because they didn’t have anything to offer me. Then I was in love with my boyfriend.

“My guy then was a factory worker, and his salary was a meager one. It was not even enough for him, much less giving me money or gifts. I understood his situation. Sometimes after cooking in my house I would take some food to him, especially at weekends. I was not ready to leave him for married men then, but he broke my heart when I caught him with another girl. This was someone whose condition I sympathized with and from whom I didn’t ask money, yet he had money to take another girl out – something he never did for me. The worst was that he chose the girl over me. I was devastated.

“It was at this period I met this man. I knew it was wrong of me to date him but, you see, right now I don’t even care anymore. This man is very caring. I have never been loved this way before. He takes care of my bills, sends me money often, and takes me out to cool places in town. He is the first person to take me to a club. And I am enjoying every bit of him. I have never enjoyed romance like this before. His sexual positions are brain-bursting. My fear now is that I don’t want to fall in love with him. Because I think I am going crazy over him already. Now I can afford to buy whatever I need, and I am happy.”
