
The Barotse Royal Establishment -BRE- says the livestock sector has been limping in Western Province in the recent past due to animal diseases.
BRE Prime Minister MANYANDO MUKELA says the sector needs concerted efforts to contain diseases that have affected livestock in the province.
Mr. MUKELA was speaking at the royal arena in Kalabo when he addressed thousands of people that gathered to welcome the Litunga of the Lozi people of Western Province, LUBOSI IMWIKO the second who is in Kalabo to meet his subjects and visit some developmental activities in the area.
He further called on the people in the province to venture in agriculture and livestock farming to improve their livelihoods.
Mr. MUKELA said the Litunga wants to see his subjects committed to self-employment such as venturing in agriculture, livestock and fish farming.
The Litunga who is accompanied by his senior indunas on a five days royal visit to Kalabo and Sikongo Districts.
