The Forestry Department has impounded three trucks laden with timber and 13 trucks carrying charcoal in the last two weeks.
Lusaka Province Principal Forestry Officer CATHERINE ZULU says the trucks of timber that were impounded were carrying rosewood.
Ms. ZULU says the trucksย had no production and concession licenses.
She told ZNBC News in an interview that some trucks that were carrying charcoal have been released after paying a 15,000 Kwacha penalty fee while the charcoal has been forfeited to the state.
Ms ZULU has called on citizens who do not know the procedure to trade in charcoal to go to the department.
