
Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO has assured the people of Luangwa District that the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit -DMMU-will find a lasting solution to the poverty situation in the area.
Mrs. NALUMANGO says poverty in Luangwa is made worse by the human-animal conflict and frequent droughts.
Mrs. NALUMANGO says she has tasked the DMMU National Coordinator GABRIEL POLLEN to visit Luangwa and find a lasting solution to the challenges in the area.
The Vice President said this when she paid a courtesy call on Chief MPHUKA of the Chikunda people of Luangwa District at his KASUSU Palace this afternoon upon arrival from Lusaka.
And, Chief MPHUKA said Luangwa is one of the least developed districts in the country and CDF will bring development to the area.
Meanwhile, Chief MPHUKA has urged government to ensure that the process to open Kangaluwi Mine is expedited.
The traditional leader said his people want the mine to open so that they can have jobs.
